Birthed out of prayer and God's word, we as a group will follow Christ and devote ourselves to the early church practice as evident in Acts 2:42-47. As early believers in Christ "devoted themselves to the apostles' 1) teaching and the 2) fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the 3) prayers", so will we follow Christ in these practices (Acts 2:42). Inherent to this model and practice is also 4) discipleship and/or training. The people of Pentecost prior to devoting themselves to these practices heard Peter's sermon/teaching and asked the question, "Brothers, what shall we do" (Acts 2:37). Upon hearing this question, Peter taught/trained them as he made disciples of Christ (Acts 2:38). And so our practice as a men’s group will simply be to devote ourselves to:
1) Prayer 2) Bible 3) Discipleship 4) Fellowship.
It is our desire to allow each of us to use gifts, speak into, and facilitate group discussion. It has been our experience that leadership/responsibility must be in place though to lead the group in a time of prayer, bible study, and discussion. Each week we will have a different leader who takes responsibility for the time of gathering, and endeavors to keep us focused on our group practices. It is in leading that God often wrestles with us by preparing our hearts and minds for service to others. By studying God’s word and preparing discussion questions, the leader keeps us focused on our practices for the ultimate purpose of building us all up. We are praying that WE ALL might grow in leading and serving within God’s church and kingdom.
This group will run each and every Saturday morning at 7am
